Classic Cocktails – The Martini & The Manhattan
You don’t have to have a full bar in your house to make the classic cocktails – The Martini and The Manhattan. Learn the basics of these cocktails and you will be on your way to hosting the perfect cocktail party. Remembering cocktail recipes is easy if you think in ratios instead of ounces and shots.
We are having a cocktails before our guests put on a talent show at our Campground for the holidays. Laugh and Learn.
Classic Gin Martini (7 to 1 ratio)
Makes 2 drinks:
7 ounces Gin
1 ounce Dry Vermouth
Green olives for garnish
Other garnish options:
Cocktail onions
Slice cucumber
Twist of lemon
Pour Gin and Vermouth into a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake well to combine and chill.
Strain into a chilled martini glass, garnish with olives
Classic Manhattan (2 to 1 ratio)
Makes 2 drinks:
6 ounces Whiskey
3 ounces Sweet Vermouth
Dash bitters
Maraschino cherry juice
Maraschino cherries for garnish
Combine Whiskey, Vermouth and bitters into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Stir well to combine and chill. In a chilled martini glass, place one cherry and a spoonful of cherry juice in the glass. Strain mixture into class and serve.
