Crostini – The Emergency Appetizer

Are your guests less than impressed by the same old chips and dips? Does the thought of unexpected company puts you in a panic? Allow me to introduce you to the Crostini – The Emergency Appetizer!

Crostini – or “little toasts” in Italian – are simply small slices of grilled bread, usually made with baguette or ciabatta that make a perfect base for dips, spreads, cheeses, seafood, meats and vegetables. Whether sweet or savory, the toppings are limited only by your imagination.

Some flavors we used in this episode are:
Smoked salmon and dill
Goat cheese and fig jam
Port wine cheese and radishes
Caviar and sour cream

You can use common every day pantry items and a little imagination to create an easy, one of a kind appetizer or snack.
