A perfect way to start any celebration, my Pear Martini is combination of light, fruity, sweet, smooth and refreshing! A squeeze of lime adds just enough brightness to wake up all the flavors. Garnished with a fresh pear and served with some fresh fruit and mild cheeses and you have the perfect start to an event.
This drink is about ratios, it’s 1:1. The recipe below will make 2 large drinks or 3 small drinks. You can usually find Pear Nectar in the juice aisle of your favorite grocery store. Taste a few Pear Nectars to find the one you like best. If the Nectar doesn’t have sugar in it at all, then you will need the simple syrup to keep the alcohol and juice from separating.
4 oz Pear Vodka (Regular vodka can be used if you can’t find Pear Vodka)
4 oz Pear Nectar
1 tablespoon Simple Syrup ** (Note: This is only required if you use Pear Nectar that does not have any added sugar)
Squeeze fresh lime juice
Slices of fresh pear
Pour all ingredients in a cocktail shaker full of ice. Shake well to combine and chill.
Pour into a chilled martini glass, garnish with the slice of pear.
If pouring in the large Collins glass over ice, then increase the amount of Vodka slightly to account for dilution from the ice.
** Simple Syrup is just equal parts sugar and water. Take 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar in a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and stir a minute or two, until the sugar dissolves. Take off heat and cool to room temperature. Store in a very clean jar with a tight cap. Refrigerate, tightly covered, up to a month.
