Rockin Reubens – A Quick and Easy Appetizer
What do you get when you cross a bread stick and a pastrami sandwich. You get an amazingly simple and hearty appetizer, Rockin Reubens. Perfect for a buffet, or as a snack on movie night these versatile snacks are easy to make and always a crowd pleaser!

Dipping sauce: (may be made 3 days in advance)
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons sauerkraut, drained and chopped
1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
-Optional 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
Combine all ingredients and mix well. Store tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Rockin Reubens:
1/2 pound thinly sliced pastrami (First cut is preferable. If you use the round, then cut the slices lengthwise into strips)
Baby arugula leaves (if using fully grown arugula, remove the stems)
Breadsticks (12-24) Make sure they’re sturdy
Spread the pastrami on a work surface and cover each piece with the arugula.
Roll each strip tightly around the end of a breadstick. Place seam-side down.
Serve with the dipping sauce.
*note: may be made 1-2 hours in advance
Tips: You can substitute corned beef, roast beef, turkey or ham for the pastrami.
