Skip Takeout – Sweet & Sour Pork Rice Bowl (No Frying)

Sweet and sour pork doesn’t have to mean deep frying or takeout containers.

In this episode of Let’s Celebrate TV, we’re making a fresh, easy version using bite-sized pork, real pineapple, and a bold, sweet and sour sauce—all served over a simple rice bowl. No fryer, no complicated steps, and everything comes together in one pan.

If you’ve ever thought sweet and sour pork was too heavy, too complicated, or just something you order instead of making… this version will change your mind.

It’s bright, balanced, and perfect for a weeknight dinner.

=== 🍽🍸🥩 RECIPE ===
1 pound (453g) Boneless pork cut into bite-sized cubes
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 large red onion, diced
1 red and 1 green bell pepper, diced
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
1 – 20-ounce (567g) can crushed pineapple in juice (not syrup)
3 ounces (90ml) apple cider vinegar
3 tablespoons soy sauce
Salt & pepper
1 tablespoon of corn starch dissolved in 2 tablespoons of water
Sliced scallions for garnish

Heat a large, heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Season the pork all over with salt and pepper.

When the pan is hot, add the oil and swirl to coat the bottom. Add the pork and cook, turning as needed, for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C). Remove the pork from the pan, and tent loosely with foil. Carry over cooking will bring the pork to 145°F (63°C)

To the same pan, add the onions first and let them start cooking. Then add the peppers, garlic, ginger, pineapple, vinegar and soy sauce. Cook for 7 to 10 minutes, or until the onions and peppers are soft. Taste for seasoning, then add the cornstarch slurry and stir to combine. Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken. Add the pork and any accumulated juices back to the pan, and stir to combine.

Serve over a bowl of rice. Garnish with sliced scallions.
