Dessert Cocktails and Chocolate – The Brandy Alexander and Grasshopper

Cocktails and chocolate desserts are on my mind today. So how about we combine the two and make chocolate cocktails? My favorite Dessert Cocktails and Chocolate are the Brandy Alexander and the Grasshopper.

The Brandy Alexander is chocolatey, sweet, creamy and smooth. Because the alcohol taste is so light, you might think of it as a spiked milkshake.

Chocolate mint lovers unite, the Grasshopper is a mint-flavored, creamy after-dinner drink. The name of the drink derives from its green color, which comes from crème de menthe.

1 part Brandy or Cognac
1 part dark Crème de Cacao
1 part heavy cream
Fresh nutmeg

Pour into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake. Strain into a martini glass, garnish with grating of nutmeg

1 part green Crème de Menthe
1 part light Crème de Cacao
1 part heavy cream

Pour into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake. Strain into a martini glass.
