How to Make a Ham and Cheese Strata – The Perfect Brunch Casserole

Imagine a symphony of flavors: savory ham, gooey cheese, and fluffy bread. Welcome to my version of a Ham & Cheese Strata.

12 Slices Day Old Bread
4 Ounces (113g) Butter, Melted
8 Ounces (226g) Shredded Cheddar Cheese
8 Ounces (226g) Cooked Ham, Cubed
1 Medium Green Bell Pepper, Diced
3 Ounces (85g) Diced Pimientos
6 Ounces (170g) Sliced Mushrooms
5 Large Eggs
12 Ounces (360ml) Whole Milk
1/2 Teaspoon Paprika
Salt and Pepper

Preheat your oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

Brush the bread slices with the melted butter.

In a greased 13Γ—9 in (33 x 22cm) pan, layer half of each of the following: bread, cheese, ham, green peppers, and pimentos. Top with all of the mushrooms. Repeat the layers.

In a large bowl, mix together the eggs, milk, and seasonings. Pour over the top.

Bake covered for 40 – 45 minutes, or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
