How to Make Barbeque Chicken Lollipops in the Oven
When you hear the word lollipop, you think of a sweet piece of candy. But how about a lollipop made from chicken drumsticks? My Barbecue Chicken Lollipops are a fresh take on boring old drumsticks and will give you the BBQ experience without firing up the grill.
=== 🍽🍸🥩 RECIPE ===
12 Chicken drumsticks
Your favorite BBQ Rub
2 bottles of your favorite BBQ sauce
Sharp knife
Kitchen towel
Sheet pan
Preheat your oven to 375F (190C)
With a very sharp knife, slice around the drumstick about one inch below the knuckle. Using the blade, scrape up towards the knuckle end, exposing the bone. Peel the excess skin and tendons over the knuckle and remove. (You may need to use a kitchen towel.)
On the other end, slice off a small bit of the end so the drumstick can stand up straight.
Season liberally with the BBQ rub. Place on the sheet pan, standing up.
Roast for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and dip each lollipop in the BBQ sauce. Return to the oven for 10 to 15 minutes to set the sauce and finish at an internal temperature of 175F (80 C).
