How to Make Roasted Garlic – Basic Kitchen Skills

Roasting garlic brings out the natural sugars and deepens the flavor. I will show you how easy it is to make, and no special equipment is needed. Soft roasted garlic will be your new spreadable spice.

2 to 3 heads garlic
Olive oil
Salt
Foil

Preheat oven to 350°F /180°C
Remove the loose paper from the heads of garlic.
Cut off the top third of the heads with a sharp knife.
Place the garlic on the foil. Drizzle olive oil on the cut part of the garlic.
Sprinkle with salt, and wrap the foil around the garlic.
Roast for 45 minutes to 1 hour until garlic is soft and caramelized.
Allow to cool.

Use in:
Mac & cheese
Mashed potatoes
Garlic bread
Add to mayo or mustard
Vinaigrettes
Sauces/gravies
