Boozy Orange French Toast Coins

French toast doesn’t have to be the same old boring bread dipped in eggs and fried. My boozy orange french toast coins is a mashup of fresh orange zest and juice, a splash of triple sec, and hoagie or steak rolls to give that special coin shape. This recipe is a perfect combination of textures, crunchy around the edges and rich and custardy in the middle. Next time you want an adult boozy breakfast or brunch, skip the mimosas and try this.

🍽🍸🥩 Recipe
============================
3 Torpedo (hoagie or steak) rolls
6 eggs
3 oz. half n half
2 oz. Triple Sec or Cointreau
The zest of 1 large orange
The juice of 1/2 large orange (2 to 3 oz.)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
1/2 stick of butter cut into large pieces.

Slice torpedo rolls into 1.5 inch coins, set aside.

Mix the rest of the ingredients in a large bowl. Add bread slices to the bowl and allow to soak for a minute or two.

Melt the butter in a large frying pan. Fry bread slices until golden brown, 2-3 minutes per side.
If doing a large amount in batches, keep the finished toast warm in the oven.

Serve with real maple syrup.
